Your domain name is required to access computer resources in the university. All new and old students receive their domain name information through SXU email. If you do not have your domain name, please contact HelpDesk [773-298-3291].
Your Blackboard username is your Domain Name:
- First name initial + last name initial + 5 numbers
Password: Your initial password is your six digit student ID card number. It is the six digit number between 00 and 01 on your Cougar Card; otherwise it is the number under your picture ID. You can change or reset your password as soon as you login successfully into the system. For further instructions, go to Blackboard FAQS or download this Quickstart document.

Blackboard Technical Requirements
Internet Explorer(IE) 6.0 or newer is recommended. Do not use the AOL browser - minimize it and then open IE. JavaScript and Cookies must be enabled. If you wish to use Virtual Classroom (chat feature), Java Virtual Machine must be enabled. If Java is not installed on your computer, you need to download a Java tool.
